Digital X-Ray at Home
DIGITAL X-RAY AT HOME
Digital X-Ray at home provides:
- Uses the lowest possible radiation dose
- Results are immediately signed by a radiologist
- Suitable for difficult diagnostic cases
- Represents an advancement over digitized X-Rays
The initial image appears directly on a special laptop inside the patient’s home, rather than in a special vehicle.
In contrast, with digitized X-Rays, the process required transferring the film to a processing vehicle, where the initial image was converted into electronic format through a digitizer.

ADVANTAGES OF DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY
- Lower radiation dose – maximum radiation protection
The radiation dose is reduced by more than half, making it the safest radioprotective method. - Excellent image quality – high spatial resolution – low noise
High-quality imaging is ensured, even under large magnification, allowing focus on areas of clinical interest. - Minimal examination time
Image acquisition takes place inside the patient’s home, ensuring the shortest possible examination time. - Real-time results
Both the patient and the orthopedic doctor can view the X-Ray immediately, saving valuable time. For example, in the case of a fracture, the orthopedic doctor can instantly confirm proper treatment. Using the laptop, the fresh cast can be digitally “removed” to visualize the underlying anatomical structure and pathology, confirming correct cast placement.
- For Difficult Diagnostic Cases
Digital X-Ray is also indicated for difficult diagnostic cases, as it clearly visualizes fine fractures (e.g., scaphoid region). It enables diagnosis of unclear orthopedic cases (e.g., acetabular roof fracture, fissure fractures of metatarsals and metacarpals, intercondylar eminence fractures of knee joints), while avoiding (though not replacing) more complex imaging exams such as CT scans. - Synchronized Action of Physician and Radiologist
The rapid retrieval of the radiological image makes it possible for the treating physician and the radiologist to work in perfect synchronization (e.g., during joint dislocation reductions, cast applications, etc.) and for urgent therapeutic procedures, as medical actions can now be guided directly by digital radiography. - Ideal for Young People and Women of Reproductive Age
Particularly recommended for young patients and women of reproductive age when mobility issues prevent transfer, as it ensures lower radiation doses without any loss of diagnostic accuracy (high image quality). - Exclusive Service by SOS Doctors
This service is coordinated exclusively by SOS Doctors and provided only by our certified partners. Some private clinics may offer digital X-Rays, but not at bedside — making this a truly pioneering service.
